3.  NEW PARK RULES PROHIBIT LANDING AT  KEALAKEKUA BAY

Visitors planning to kayak and snorkel Kealakekua Bay and visit Capt Cook Monument need to be aware of the new rule preventing landing, stopping or going ashore at Capt Cook Monument without "landing permits".  Adventures in Paradise Snorkeling Trips was one of the first companies that voluntarily agreed to obtain landing permits and is among the few kayak companies with the State issued landing permits for Kealakekua Bay State Park and follow State regulations for its protection.

Those taking their own kayaks should be aware the State's new rules allow State DOCARE Enforcement Officers to confiscate and fine those who break this new rule designed to protect the fragile reef and marine life at this world class snorkeling destination.

The State warned all kayak rental companies too that if their guests are caught landing they will be fined and rental equipment confiscated on the spot.  Return of the equipment would take several weeks, resulting in hefty rental fees equaling the actual cost of purchasing the kayaks new.  Anyone taking a guided kayak & snorkeling trip with Adventures in Paradise can rest assured we are operating in a State mandated manner to maintain a healthy reef.   Be wary of anyone renting kayaks telling you otherwise.  If you land near Capt Cook Monument, tie up, or otherwise leave kayaks in the shallows, be advised and warned that much higher penalties than the rental costs of the equipment may result!   Play it safe and protect the reef by joining the 4.5 hour snorkeling trips with landing permits.

Before booking a guided kayak or motorboat tour...
Our tour destination - Capt Cook Monument is well known for calm winds & wave conditions & we land our kayaks on shore for easier snorkeling.  These features make ours one of the safest, easiest and most enjoyable trips available.

Unfortunately not all guided tour destinations are as safe and interesting as Kealakekua Bay.  Be sure you book the Big island's best snorkeling - Capt Cook Monument at Kealakekua Bay.

Be aware that tours that paddle along exposed coastlines like Keauhou or Kuamoo Bay ("sea caves"), Puako and Kohala (Waikoloa resorts area)  have rougher sea conditions and can result in seasickness for guests on these trips.

Also, before booking a kayak tour be sure the kayak company lands the kayaks to snorkel.  Jumping off and climbing back onto a kayak for snorkeling from the water is difficult for most visitors...

If you are traveling with children, novices or anyone prone to seasickness - join us at our protected "bay" location. Schedule your tour for the island's safe and easy kayaking and snorkeling location - Kealakekua Bay and Capt. Cook Monument.

Advance purchase strongly recommended.
